About Her Imperial Highness, the Lady Grand Duchess Maria Pavlovna's delivery of a Son, named Alexander, and about naming the Newly-Born Grand Duke as His Imperial Highness

We declare to all loyal Our subjects.

On the 19-th day of this August, Our Amiablest Daughter-in-Law, Her Imperial Highness, the Lady Grand Duchess MARIA PAVLOVNA, Consort of Our Amiablest Son, His Imperial Highness, the Lord Grand Duke VLADIMIR ALEXANDROVICH, had been delivered of a child by birth for Us a Grandson, and for Their Imperial Highnesses a Son, named ALEXANDER.

Interpreting such Our Imperial House increment as a new token of the grace of God, granted Us as a consolation, We are fully ascertained that all Our loyal subjects will, together with Us, uplight to the Most High warm prayers for the happy growth and well-being of the Newly-Born.

We command to write and name in all pursuits, where it befits, this Amiablest for Us Grandson, the Newly-Born Grand Duke, as His Imperial Highness.

Given in Moscow, in Peter Palace, on the 19-th day of this August, in the year of the Lord one thousand eight hundreds seventy fifth, the twenty first year of Our Reign.
